Teaching summer school at an eikaiwa is a drag. Not many students showing up and tomorrow I have 6 hours to kill with no classes. I prefer it better when there are normal classes and things to do to keep me busy. At least it is only two weeks of half days of work before I have full days of work again to keep me busy. Basically, I get to play with pre-schoolers for a few weeks in August rather than teaching them English lessons in the mornings and then teach at the eikaiwa in the afternoons. I don't envy Japanese students with all their summer vacation homework. I am glad I always was free for the summer to play and enjoy my freedom.
